In the end of 1980s, when an initiative group of parents and specialists created the Center for Curative Pedagogics for rescuing children from psychoneurological hospitals and internats, nobody could even dream that in 20 years there would be tens of similar centers in Russia, that institutes for higher education will introduce specialty “curative pedagogy” and manuals in it will be published.

The history of the Center began more than 20 years ago from taking up the kids, who had failed to find help elsewhere. The classical school of special pedagogy became obsolete and could not solve the problem by just bringing up a verdict “uneducable”, which deprived children and their parents of hope. Specialists of the Center started fruitfully cooperating with representatives of the science (school of neuropsychology of Luriya, school of age physiology of Arzhavsky), who had accumulated sound theoretical experience waiting to be applied.

It was a stage of revival and formation of curative pedagogics in Russia.

Soon it became obvious that the following level of infrastructure is necessary for the Center′s graduates. Thus, the first integrative school and kindergartens were created by the Center.

Gradually the integrative children′s institutions became governmental, more and more integrative classes opened in schools of general education, the Center′s integrative summer camp was set up. Therapeutic workshops for adolescents created at the Center continued working in Moscow Technological College No21. At present the Center is developing a project of a residence for independent living of adults with special needs.

Our goal is to build up a full-fledged “route” leading people with special needs towards a worthy grown-up life.

Those who roamed the ever busy CCP corridors yesterday could suddenly come across a may bug, or a ladybird, bump into a mouse or a mole, step aside making way for a toad, touch the wings of a moth or a swallow. Yesterday, December 12, at 4 p.m., CCP made a Dyuimovochka show based on the fairy tale by Andersen. The show director Yelena Morzhina said: ‘We have never staged such a difficult fairy tale before. It is not easy to stage a fairy tale done by a writer, but we have to grow‘.Подробнее >>

During my year in the CCP I could see, how people work with all their power and love for other people. They spend a lot of time, love, energy and endurance.

But a reams of smaller and bigger success shows every day, how necessary this work is.

I was permitted to see, how encouraging it is, to keep taps on this progresses.

Every of this achieve aims makes this work worthy, to work forward!
