How Summer Sings

Our integrative summer camp is closing down. Its two hills, lovely clearings and a forest sit on three hectares of land along which the Valdaika river runs. It takes twenty minutes to cycle to the Valdai lake and an hour to reach the nearest town. Kids, their parents, volunteers and pedagogues stay in tents. If a tent does not do for a living one can use rooms in wooden houses. There are altogether five houses, which are not too big: one, with a huge terrace, accommodates a kitchen and five rooms for educational sessions, another is a library with a computer. There is a music and arts house, a shed filled with camp treasures, and a “second building” where lessons go in the daytime, fairy tales are played in the evening and teeth are brushed at night.

Aida and Arina will soon go to school!

The school year is nearly over. For many CCP pupils it was the last pre-school one not only because of their age but also because they’ve matured, learned a lot and are now able to enter the school facilities. For many our pupils entering school is a serious achievement. This means that now they can follow common rules, listen to what the teacher says, follow the time-table, stay attentive during the whole lesson, succeed in self-help skills.
