In summer our integrative family camp took place near the town of Valdai in Novgorod region. In total, over the past summer, 11 shifts were held in the integrative family camp of the CCP, more than 800 people took part in it. This is a record number of participants in the fifteen years of the camp. Children with special needs, their parents, brothers and sisters, specialists and volunteers came to Valdai. Guests from different regions of Russia (Pskov, Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Kirov, Tula, Orenburg, etc.) visited the camp. Moreover, foreign guests came from Georgia, Germany, Israel and the United States.
Each shift was interesting for something special: for example, one of the shifts was devoted to the circus; – children and adults prepared the circus performance. Parents made a video about the camp life .
Another shift was dedicated to the study of national traditions; one of the days children and adults even took part in historical role-playing game on the theme of Jewish place. Participants of the shift learned what Shabbat is, got acquainted with traditional dishes of Jewish cuisine, and even visited a Jewish wedding. By the end of the shift our wonderful guests from Georgia together with children and adults prepared a magnificent puppet show in the Mexican style.
There was even a space shift. Four crews visited five stations, learned a lot about space, ate space food and made a real rocket.
Valdai brought together young people with various developmental disorders living in Moscow boarding facilities and families, as well as volunteers – successful scientists, journalists, musicians, managers, engineers, students, teachers and psychologists.
